Abstract
Tensegrity (tensile integrity) systems, and extensively, cable-strut systems, characteristic of free-standing nature and introduction of struts in cable networks, are composite forms of tension structures and pin-jointed space frames. The topic becomes popular recently under the driving forces of pursing lightness and innovation in forms. Properties of tensegrity systems and cable-strut systems of contiguous strut types have been studied by the authors and other researchers. In this paper, cable-strut systems of non-contiguous strut types are investigated as independent family of structures in order to present the value in architectural art.
