Abstract
Most of the buildings that form the Bacardí-México Bottling Plant (Tultitlán, Estado de México, 1958-1971) have roofs consisting of reinforced concrete shells. Two portions of the complex with particularly outstanding characteristics can be considered among Félix Candela’s masterpieces: umbrellas that protect the aging barrels, and the hyperbolic paraboloid groined vaults of the bottling building. This paper presents a typological analysis of both structures.
