Abstract
Geometrically nonlinear theory of limit equilibrium allows to solve many problems of ultimate strength and stability analyses of RC (reinforced concrete) shells, considering process of shell deformating after transition into a plastic state. In brought below examples of the solution of specific problems of analyses of RC shells under various loads and boundary conditions is shown, that during analysis it is possible to define a deformed state of an elastic - plastic shells to the moment on reaching the limit state and to obtain the values of bearing capacity of RC shells corresponding with accepted scheme of deforming. The resulted methods of ultimate strength and stability analysis of RC shells are concerning to approximated engineering methods, however the accuracy received in result of the calculation of the values of ultimate loads is quite sufficient for application them in design practice.
