Abstract
Some authors have already used in the past the concepts of loadpath and flow of forces to describe aspects of their structures (Schlaich, Menn, Jennewein). In this work an objective definition of these concepts is given, based on analogies between similar processes in nature, in the domain of fluid mechanics. Using these definitions, which are always valid, the loadpath can be drawn and the flow of forces can be understood in all parts of structures. With some examples, it is shown in this paper how the loadpath method could be applied to decide about the quality of a structure, based on how the structure works inside.
