The paper discusses the buckling behavior of saddle-shape HP reticulated shells of square plan under uniform vertical loads. First, mathematical formulae for linear buckling are derived based on a continuum analogy. Then, the buckling behavior of saddle-shaped HP reticulated shells is examined through a series of finite element buckling analyses with several parameters. Finally, the initial yield load and the ultimate load are estimated using the column buckling strength as a function of generalized slenderness.
