Abstract
In the paper the concept of steering of form is introduced as an extension of pure form finding methods. A short overview of methods of using form finding methods to steer form in particle spring models is shown A wider range of forms is achieved by using solver based rigid body simulation environments such as a physics game engine. In the case of the hanging model force limited moment connections are introduced in the chain to allow for deviations from the pure catenary form. In conclusion it is claimed that extending the possibilities of designers to interact with traditionally analytical tools can expand the use of such methods and aid in design exploration.
