This working group is under reorganization after a period of inactivity.
Mission
The overall mission of the WG will be to develop an international forum for the exchange of expertise and experience within the field of tanks and silos. It will seek to combine the distinct field of silo and tank loading with that of silo and tank structural design and to achieve an integration of these two fields that is missing from almost all other forums.
Current Objectives
The reorganization of WG 1 on Tanks and Silos has been a concern of the Executive Council of the IASS for some years, and the EC is seeking to form a new group with a modern vision of the problems in both silos and tanks, covering different materials of construction, different geometrical forms and different design requirements.
