The IASS 2001 Symposium on THEORY, DESIGN AND REALIZATION OF SHELL AND SPATIAL STRUCTURES, co-sponsored by the IASS and the Architectural Institute of Japan was held at Nagoya Congress Center in Nagoya, Japan, on October 9 to 13, 2001. The Symposium was attended by 381 participants from 29 countries of the world. 170 papers and 7 invited keynote lectures were presented The proceedings have been published as a CD-ROM for full papers as well as a book for the collected extended-abstracts of 444 pages.
