Abstract
The New National Stadium is a facility to be built as a main stadium of the Tokyo Olympic and Paralympic Games in 2020. Based on the concept of 'The Forest Stadium' the new stadium will establish a network of green and water in Gaien (the Outer Garden of Meiji Jingu Shrine) and sports activities. In this paper, we will report the outline of the structural concepts, such as the simple structure in consideration of the construction period, the cantilever roof structure with the hybrid members using wood and steel, and the response controlled structure by Soft First Story System with high seismic performance.
