Abstract
This paper focuses on design considerations of a cable-membrane roof of a stadium. Based on the initial state finding by numerical analysis, nonlinear static multi-staged construction analysis was carried out to trace the constructional motion trial of the flexible structure. Besides the constructional simulation, cable clamp connections link loop cables, ridge cables and valley cables were introduced. Friction effects between loop cables and heavy steel castings connections are considered in the detail analysis. Construction and detail analysis verified the feasibility of such flexible roof structures. Design suggestions were given at last for such structural system styles.
