Abstract
The present paper discusses on reliability of single layer reticular domes under seismic loads. First, on a basis of the mathematical formula derived previously by the authors for dynamic buckling load under dead load and seismic forces, the performance function for reliability is proposed. Secondly, a scheme for numerically obtaining the reliability index is formulated in terms of seismic acceleration intensity together with related probabilistic variables of yield stress, Young's modulus and others. Finally, the reliability index is calculated by AFOSM method, and the relationship between the reliability index and the design load factor is clearly investigated for a certain reference period for seismic forces.
