Abstract
A low-rise single-layer lattice frame using H-section steel as the main members was adopted for the gymnasium roof structure for the 2 buildings of the Main Arena and Sub-arena of the "St.Margaret's School Gymnasium 2014", to reduce the construction cost, to meet the requirements of the architectural scheme, and to improve productivity. However there were no precedents for the application of H-section steel as the main members, so there were many issues to be resolved. This paper describes the methods to resolve these issues at each stage of structural design and construction planning.
