Abstract
This paper presents the design and the implementation of a folded plate dome that is made by folding. Due to its folded shape inspired by origami and due to the manufacturing concept it was given the name Oridome. For the realization the Oricrete design and manufacturing method was used. Within this method spatial structures are obtained by folding of planar elements provided with prescribed crease lines. For support of all phases of the design and construction the numerical simulation platform oricrete is used. Its application for form finding and structural analysis is shown. A prototype of the dome structure was built on a model scale. Detail solutions for problems of a scale up are presented and a way of realizing the dome in larger scale with precast elements is shown.
