Abstract
The Aluminium single-layer latticed domes (ASLLDs) are used widely in the system of spatial structures due to their unique advantages such as light weight, resistance to corrosion and ease of assembly. Stability is always a key issue of single-layer latticed domes, which can be strongly influenced by joint rigidity, so the ASLLD with semi-rigid joints requires deeper study. To obtain the rigidity of joints for ASLLSs, two full-scale joint tests are carried out respectively. Then the influences of joint rigidity and rise to span ratio on the behavior of Kiewitt-6 ASLLDs is demonstrated by geometrically and material nonlinear analysis. Finally, in order to investigate the critical load of ASLLD, an advanced analysis on Kiewitt-6 ASLLDs with semi-rigid joints, which can take into account the distribution of the loads, is conducted.
