Abstract
Instead of demolishing old buildings to build new buildings, using the Interior Shear Grid Wall (ISGW) system improves seismic performance in aging buildings, thereby allowing older structures to be renovated and seismically retrofitted, reducing waste, cost, and energy consumption. ISGW combines the structural strengths of steel and glass with smart design to create a uncharacteristically appealing seismic reinforcement system.
