Abstract
In order to deeply investigate the behavior, ultimate capacity and the failure mode of transfer truss joint, an experiment with a 1:4 scale model on the large span transfer truss joint in Zone B of Hangzhou Alipay building was carried out. The stress and deformation of the model were measured in 2 different working conditions. Slight local bucking was observed in the section between the joint and Bar 2 in working condition 1 and 2. The finite element analysis was also conducted and was in good agreement with experiment result. The experimental and finite element analysis results show that the truss joint has good mechanical performance and is safe under design loads.
