Abstract
Rubber support and damper are usually adopted as vibration control measures. For a gymnasium that suffered Wenchuan earthquake, calculation and analysis are done to the model with vibration control measures and with reinforcement. The cloud pictures of maximum stress and deformation of every member over all frames are given, and comparison of maximum stress and the proportion of failed members are done. In conclusion, the adoption of rubber support and damper can both be used as vibration control measures, and the members connected to support/damper and located in radial location are vulnerable members, which must be paid special attention to during the design phase.
