Abstract
Considering the conciseness and explicitness of the pushover method adopted in displacement based seismic design of multistory buildings, its application in large-span spatial structures is also expected to be improved. In this paper, some crucial issues and preliminary thoughts on the application of pushover method in large-span spatial structures are discussed, including load pattern derivation method, problems in capacity curves drawing. Furthermore, the consideration of geometric non-linearity in generalized modification of displacement response spectra is declared. Some other issues, including combination rules of modal in pushover analysis, are mentioned as research prospects simultaneously.
