Abstract
The goal of this paper is to study the influence of slenderness in the evaluation of the forces in a vertical cylindrical circular tank under seismic acceleration. With this purpose, this paper presents vertical cylindrical circular concrete tanks with the same volume and different slenderness analyzed according the New Zealand for Earthquake Engineering Society (NZSEE 2009) – Seismic Design of Storage Tanks Recommendations using the Venezuelan spectrum given by the COVENIN 1756:2001: Edificaciones Sismorresistentes.
