Eight parabolic paraboloids, built in reinforced brick, was the shelter solution found for a chapel at Ribeirão Pires in São Paulo, inspired in the building system of reinforced ceramic developed by Eladio Dieste. First it were erected the steel bars framework, a kind of mesh, like a tensioned tent, tied and supported by guides, but without any kind of form work. Then the bricks were started to be place in between and involving the steel bars, using small wooden panels hung on the frame to facilitate the placement of the bricks, thereby obtaining double curvature surfaces with great formal freedom, avoiding laborious and expensive form works. The result is an easy, quick construction, low cost, with great visual impact and at the same time a craft work with human sign.
