Abstract
The construction of curved structural surfaces has always been challenged by the thinness and often complex geometry of this type of structures. New technologies have drastically eased intricate design and fabrication processes as digital tools have increasingly become part of contemporary architectural production and manufacturing processes have moved to CAD/CAM and CNC controlled environments. Nevertheless, building industry encounters problems to manufacture curved geometries from traditional and mainly available planar or linear materials.
